What do you think of "Mrs. Dalloway?" I want to love Virginia Woolf, but I have such a hard time reading her stuff. It's like she writes on speed.
I totally love your description of her writing. I see it as her focusing through writing on all the details around her that make up one's lived life, so that is chaotic when you think about it.
Right now the hum of the fridge, the noise of the neighbors, the whirr of the air conditioning as I type this, the key clicks following my thoughts.
Jonah Lehrer's chapter on her in "Proust was a Neuroscientist" is really interesting.
